Biography

Jim joined Intermountain Claims in 2024 as a liability adjuster working out of the Idaho Falls office.  Prior to joining Intermountain, he actively practiced law for almost 40 years and owned and managed multiple law firms in Wyoming and Idaho. Jim maintained a diverse practice, representing clients in the State and Federal Courts of Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana with emphasis on civil and criminal litigation, insurance defense, personal injury, employment and labor disputes, business, and administrative litigation as well as Federal, State, and local government law.  He was admitted to the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and United States Supreme Court and spent 10 years as a Magistrate Judge for the Federal District of Wyoming.  Jim has been recognized for his litigation successes by invitation to join the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, one of the most prestigious groups of trial lawyers in the Unted Sates whose membership is limited to attorneys who have won multi-million dollar verdicts, awards, and settlements.  Jim has a Juris Doctorate degree from Hamline University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Wisconsin.  He is a member of the Association of Ski Defense Attorneys, the Idaho State Bar Association, Wyoming State Bar Association, and the Montana State Bar Association.  Jim is licensed in the State and Federal Courts of Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana and is a licensed Independent Adjuster in the states of Idaho, Wyoming and Montana.
